In What are you building
You may recall that at the start of Lockdown 1, there was a suggestion that NM shedders may like to create models of the town centre, including bomb damage, during war time. Well here are a couple of examples showing progression from information pack, basic construction and 'decoration' to show the buildings as they were then. The first two photographs show a model of 78 - 82 Station Road which Ken Fletcher is working on. The roof slates were made using moulds and plaster of Paris, the walls are a mix of wood and plasterboard. No 82 is still being developed. The third photo shows the base construction of 66 - 70 Station Road which Trevor Hewson has made using second-hand foam board. This is ready to decorate if anyone is up for it! At the end are images for these buildings that were included in information packs for each site; the packs contain key dimensions of the buildings together with scale dimensions of building components and materials that might be used in the models. If anyone would like to contribute, with by making a whole model, a base construction or decorating a base model produced by someone else, please let me know and I'll sort something out. Conversely, if you have decided not to continue with the model you have been sent, please tell me so I can re-allocate it. Many thanks

Following a discussion on another site where someone was looking for word games, I thought some shed members may be interested in Boggle. If you don't of know it, it is game where you shake 25 dice in to a gridded tray and try to make words from resulting square of letters. For various reasons, not just because I am weird, I produced a version in Excel, which can be viewed on a pc, tablet, mobile phone or cast to a TV, ideal for larger groups with poorer eyesight. It operates just by clicking one of two buttons and incorporates an adjustable timer. It does use macros, though I also have an earlier version without a time that is 'macro free'. Attached is a pdf explaining how the game is played. The Dropbox link should allow you to download the Excel file, I tried to include the file directly in this post but it would not allow me. If anyone is interested but does not have Excel I can produce less elegant versions in Power Point, in the form of a video that you stop/ start between games or a simple pdf that can be printed off and played like puzzles in a newspaper. Let me know if you would like one of the other formats. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/9kihcjzx1dtgbtkrttfol/Boggle-Mk4.xlsm?dl=0&rlkey=2tb1n0j1mjf9j53kp97vqmnsc

I don't suppose anyone has (successfully) built a cnc router from a kit have they? I have just returned to mine (started building it some years ago then dismantled it to move) and still can't get the x-axis drive to work.
