You may recall that at the start of Lockdown 1, there was a suggestion that NM shedders may like to create models of the town centre, including bomb damage, during war time. Well here are a couple of examples showing progression from information pack, basic construction and 'decoration' to show the buildings as they were then.
The first two photographs show a model of 78 - 82 Station Road which Ken Fletcher is working on. The roof slates were made using moulds and plaster of Paris, the walls are a mix of wood and plasterboard. No 82 is still being developed.
The third photo shows the base construction of 66 - 70 Station Road which Trevor Hewson has made using second-hand foam board. This is ready to decorate if anyone is up for it!
At the end are images for these buildings that were included in information packs for each site; the packs contain key dimensions of the buildings together with scale dimensions of building components and materials that might be used in the models.
If anyone would like to contribute, with by making a whole model, a base construction or decorating a base model produced by someone else, please let me know and I'll sort something out. Conversely, if you have decided not to continue with the model you have been sent, please tell me so I can re-allocate it. Many thanks
